Kergrist, Brittany, France 2014

Ann’s home, November 4 to Nov 28, 2014.

We were delighted when Ann chose us to look after her 8 kitties while she was at a cat show in England.  This was in November 2014.  Ann breeds Birman cats.  They are beauties, all soft and fluffy and very furry.  Prior to our arrival, a litter had been born so our crew included 4 very young kittens. We fell in love with Jack.  He was the resident “in house” cat as the others lived in a special “cat house” at the back of the property.  The new-borns and mom had one of the spare bedrooms upstairs.

This time we were in a quaint and tiny village in the North of France.  Our duties included making home made cat food, cleaning litter boxes….(lots of them) and keeping the house tidy.  We also had lots of time to explore the area including Normandy and all that that entails.
Ann’s daughter and husband and family live in the same village so when we had a problem they were readily available.  Leanne was lovely and took us in to the larger town of Pontivy to rent a car for our day trips. It was very helpful that her French was impeccable.  As well, her husband came by once to help us locate the fuse box when we blew a fuse.
It was unfortunate that cats don’t require walking as the fresh baked bread readily available a 5 minute walk away became an addiction for us.
When Ann returned, we left to spend two weeks in our trusty rented Peugeot exploring the rest of France and landing in Paris for our final 5 days.
We told Ann to keep us in mind for future trips she might take.  We loved our time in France.
